I'm not a writer, only a reader, but I saw this on tumblr & decided to share it.
_________
1. Read a book! By reading, you're exposing yourself to other ideas, writing styles, and viewpoints.
2. Take a drive/walk! By changing your environment, you're exposing your brain to new stimuli. This changes how you think.
3. When writing a large project, try starting a short story! It's going to get you away from what you've read a million times, and stimulate creativity.
4. Talk to other writers! Bouncing ideas off others is a way to get ideas you wouldn't have thought up before.
5. Take a nap! By resting your brain, you're giving yourself a chance to think clearly and sort through your ideas and thoughts better.
6. Watch a film! Watching others interact and behave is great for writing description and dialogue.
Happy Writing!
